Russian White, Black and Tabby

The Russian White, Russian Black, and Russian Tabby are breeds of cat created in 1971, derived from the Russian Blue. The Black and Tabby Russians came from the original mating which created the Russian White. It is appropriate to consider their origins first.

The Russian White Program

In the UK, Frances McLeod of Arctic began breeding Russian Whites and Russian Blacks in the 1960s.

Russian wine

Russian wine refers to wine made in the Russian Federation and to some extent wines made in the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics though this later referencing is an inaccurate representation of wines from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine. The phrase Russian wine more properly refers to wine made in the southern part of the Russian Federation-including the areas around Dagestan, Chechnya, Kabardino-Balkaria, Krasnodar Krai, Rostov, and Stavropol Krai. Russia currently has the following controlled appellations that correspond to the sorts of grapes: Sibirkovy (Сибирьковый), Tsimlyanski Cherny (Цимлянский чёрный), Plechistik (Плечистик),Narma (Нарма), and Güliabi Dagestanski (Гюляби Дагестанский).

History

Wild grape vines have grown around the Caspian, Black and Azov seas for thousands of years with evidence of viticulture and cultivation for trade with the Ancient Greeks found along the shores of the Black Sea at Phanagoria and Gorgippia. It is claimed that the Black Sea area is the world's oldest wine region.

Aluminium (album)

Aluminium is the name of a music project based upon an orchestral reworking of the music of the band The White Stripes. Its members are Richard Russell and Joby Talbot. Jack White, of the White Stripes, has endorsed the project.

Rob Jones has also produced an exhibition of artwork based on the album.

Artwork

Ten images based upon the album, as well as a series of other White Stripes and Raconteurs artwork, all by Rob Jones, were displayed at the Richard Goodall Gallery in Manchester in Autumn 2006. In the 999 LP editions of the album there are 10 inch square sections of a silk print by Rob Jones in each sleeve.

Album

The album, of orchestral music, was originally conceived by Richard Russell and Joby Talbot. After working on some tracks - including "Aluminium" (the White Stripes' original from the album White Blood Cells retained the American spelling "Aluminum") and "I'm Bound to Pack it Up" - they presented the work to the White Stripes in Cincinnati.

Following White's penchant for the number "3", only 3,333 copies of the CD version have been produced, along with 999 LPs. In addition to this, the album is available on unlimited download. The album was available for pre-order on November 6, 2006 and fully released on November 13.

6061 aluminium alloy

6061 is a precipitation-hardened aluminium alloy, containing magnesium and silicon as its major alloying elements. Originally called "Alloy 61S", it was developed in 1935. It has good mechanical properties and exhibits good weldability. It is one of the most common alloys of aluminium for general-purpose use.

It is commonly available in pre-tempered grades such as 6061-O (annealed), tempered grades such as 6061-T6 (solutionized and artificially aged) and 6061-T651 (solutionized, stress-relieved stretched and artificially aged).

Basic properties

6061 has a density of 2.70 g/cm³ (0.0975 lb/in³).

7075 aluminium alloy

Aluminium alloy 7075 is an aluminium alloy, with zinc as the primary alloying element. It is strong, with a strength comparable to many steels, and has good fatigue strength and average machinability, but has less resistance to corrosion than many other Al alloys. Its relatively high cost limits its use to applications where cheaper alloys are not suitable.

7075 aluminum alloy's composition roughly includes 5.6–6.1% zinc, 2.1–2.5% magnesium, 1.2–1.6% copper, and less than a half percent of silicon, iron, manganese, titanium, chromium, and other metals. It is produced in many tempers, some of which are 7075-0, 7075-T6, 7075-T651.

Aluminium 7075A has a density of 2.810 g/cm³ (0.1015 lb/in³).

Mechanical properties

The mechanical properties of 7075 depend greatly on the temper of the material.

7075-0

Un-heat-treated 7075 (7075-0 temper) has maximum tensile strength no more than 40,000 psi (275 MPa), and maximum yield strength no more than 21,000 psi (145 MPa). The material has an elongation (stretch before ultimate failure) of 9–10%. It is very highly corrosion-resistant and has good strength.
